After initially commissioning a single song in 2020 for the launch of Oliver Soden's book Jeoffry The Poet's Cat, Wild Plum Arts have extended the commission to a cycle of songs, all about cats.
The songs are for mezzo-sop and tenor, accompanied by electronics and will be recorded in late 2021. The cycle sets three poems, the first and third are affectionate/admiring odes of love. The central text by Emily Dickinson is more observational.
